What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits, which is how sites remember a session, a preference or — in the case of advertising and analytics cookies — a record of where a browser has been. Related technologies do the same job by other means: tracking pixels, browser storage such as localStorage and sessionStorage, and fingerprinting techniques that identify a device from its configuration.

What avalonbase.online uses

None of them. Specifically:

• This site sets no cookies of its own, of any kind — not for sessions, not for preferences, not for measurement.
• It permits no third party to set cookies through it. There is no analytics platform, no advertising tag, no conversion or remarketing pixel, no A/B testing tool, no heatmap tool, no chat widget and no social media embed anywhere on the site.
• It writes nothing to localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB, and performs no browser or device fingerprinting.
• It loads no resources from third-party hosts at all. The stylesheet, the script and the icon are served from this domain, and no external font, image or library is requested. The only JavaScript on the site is a short first-party file that opens the mobile menu and marks the current page in the navigation; you can read it at /assets/main.js.

Because no cookie or similar technology is used, there is nothing for you to consent to, and therefore no consent banner. A cookie banner on a site that sets no cookies would be a false statement about what the site does, so none is shown.

What happens instead

Two things occur that involve no cookies but are worth stating plainly.

Server logs. The hosting provider's web server records an ordinary log entry for each request: the IP address, the browser's user agent string, the URL requested, the response status and a timestamp. These entries are used to keep the site running and to identify abuse, are retained for no more than 30 days, and are described in section 2 of the privacy policy.

Links to the vendor. When you follow a paid link to the TotalAV website, you leave this site and arrive on a site operated by someone else. Whatever happens after that — including any cookies that site or its affiliate programme may set — is governed by their policies, not this one. Avalon Base places nothing on your device before, during or after that click, and does not receive information about what you do once you have left.

Controlling cookies in general

Even though there is nothing to block here, every major browser lets you review, block and delete cookies for the sites that do use them. The controls sit in the privacy or site settings section under names such as "cookies and site data", and they allow you to clear stored data, block third-party cookies, or clear everything automatically when you close the browser. Browser publishers document the exact steps for their current version, which is the reliable place to check, since the menus move between releases.

If this ever changes

No cookies, analytics or tracking tools are planned. If that position were to change, three things would happen before the first cookie was set: this page would be rewritten to name each cookie, its purpose and its lifetime; the privacy policy would be updated to match; and a working consent mechanism would be in place, so that non-essential cookies were set only after a reader agreed. Nothing would be deployed first and documented afterwards.
